Today we started with a briefing with Khaled Abu Tuameh, an Israeli Arab journalist with a unique viewpoint on the conflict in Israel.
After, we went to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust remembrance museum. We walked through the building, struck by the unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust. We then went to the Mahane Yehuda shuk, or market place. Rubbing shoulders with Israelis rushing to prepare for the Sabbath, we bought fresh produce from the locals. It was a fascinating day covering present day, recent history and a different perspective on it all.
