Hispanic Journalists Arrive in Tel Aviv

After a rainy weekend in Tel Aviv, we were greeted by sun shine and clear blue sky! No guarantee that this weather is going to last; but nonetheless, what a way to start our week!

Joining us this week are: Ruben Keoseyan, Executive Editor of La Opinion Newspaper in Los Angeles; Jorge Ferraez, Co-Founder and President of the Ferraez Publications Group, which edits three successful magazines in two countries:  Lideres Mexicanos, El Mundo del Petroleo in Mexico and Latino Leaders in the U.S.  Lupita Colmenero, is the publisher of El Hispano News, a Spanish language weekly newspaper, serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Hispanic community for the past 20 years.  Ruben Navarette, Member of the USA Today Board of Contributors & Nationally syndicated columnist with The Washington Post Writers Group and Mary Rabago, News Anchor/Reporter Univision Arizona.

Welcome everyone!!

We arrived at the David Intercontinental hotel to a warm reception from the management; After that some started touring the promenade, fresh market and the old city of Jaffa, while others took the time to rest before dinner.

After a short rest from the long flight here we all met with Aluf Benn, editor-in-chief for Haaretz Newspaper. The conversation was stimulating and the only controversial topic that came up was having to stop the meeting short so that we can make it to dinner on time.

We had dinner at Liliyot Restaurant, A special social action restaurant
We were joined by Aki Avni, one of Israel’s leading actors, and Sendi Bar, Danny Syrkin, and Rona il Shimon.
We had a lively conversation about theatre, art and culture in Tel Aviv and Israel throughout.

We’re off to bed in anticipation of tomorrow.
