We started the day with a fascinating briefing by General Yossi Kuperwaser, Director General of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs who briefed us on the geo political situation in the Mid East. It was insightful and most interesting. We then went on a walking tour of the Old City of Jaffa. We visited the art galleries, boutiques and went antique shopping as well. Tasted some of the local cuisine at one of the many sidewalk cafes. We then ascended the hills of Jerusalem to the Five Star Inbal Hotel. Enjoyed the spa and pool before being greeted and briefed by Minister of the Diaspora and Knesset member Yuli Edelstein. Once again we had a fascinating one and a half hour briefing on the quickly evolving political situation in the neighborhood. He also spoke about his experience in the Gulag prior to making aliyah and coming to live in Israel twenty years ago. After a delightful evening stroll through the streets of Jerusalem, we had dinner at the Eucalyptus Restaurant. Master Chef Moshe Basson greeted us and explained his unique menu replete with the seven species of the Holy Land, which he buys daily from the local markets. Former Jerusalem Post Editor David Horowitz joined us and gave us his insights into the situation in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and of course with the Palestinians. Off to sleep early as we have a 6:30 am start for a trip to the Golan Heights.
